Description
In this photo, Whitney Houston proves she had it. We've all seen her look worse for wear while she battled her demons, but her she looked in top form again, not to mention she was ageing fabulously.
Her classic, simple hairstyle can be worn by women of all ages and face shapes with medium-sized curls. Her hair has been nicely layered all over to show off her curls and create a soft, rounded silhouette, rather than the bottom-heavy shape girls with curly hair can end up with. She has allowed the front of her hair to drape over her face which creates a nice angle and draws attention to her eyes. Whitney has an oval face shape with a high forehead, so wearing styles that have a bit of coverage around the top can make everything look in proportion.
Whitney's fabulous cut would be nothing if her hair was damaged, so it's a good job she has shiny, healthy hair. Her rich dark brown hair color also compliments the cut nicely. If you have curls like Whitney, copy her haircut - and her hair care regime!
A combination of layers cut all through the back and sides of this 'do balances out the body and fullness making this hairstyle perfect for those looking for a big hairstyle to compliment a long face. Regular trims is needed every 4-6 weeks to maintain style and prevent slit ends.

Styling Steps
Apply styling mousse to damp hair, using your palm as a measuring guide, and evenly distribute it along the hair shaft. Styling mousse will add hold and can help achieve better results.
Lift your hair up with your fingers and move the diffuser up to the ends, motioning the diffuser to the scalp in circular movements. Make sure the blow-dryer speed is on low and try not to completely dry the hair off. Leaving a little bit of moisture will allow the hair to dry naturally.
Apply a small amount of wax to your fingertips and then lightly piece and pinch the ends of your hair.
To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
