Visual Story

Description

A short, smooth, and teased hairstyle with a high top is a great look for this fall and winter. Women love to wear a good pair of high-top sneakers while walking in their daily lives. It is a simple way to show off your style, whether going out with friends or just hanging out at home. The back and sides of this short 'do are cropped and smoothed down for a neat and tidy finish, while the longer top length is teased to create lift and height for a bold look and feel. This marvelous hairstyle is best suited for those wanting a head-turning style for any occasion.

This haircut is particularly suitable for women with a round face shape, as it hides the roundness by elongating the neckline and cutting straight across at jaw level. This haircut will suit women with long hair as it gives a flattering short style that retains length and volume while shortening the overall length of your hair. Give your hair a quick spray with hairspray, then start teasing and manipulating your hair. Pull back the front section to expose part of the roots and continue to tease out all the tiny pieces. It will help create even more volume, which allows it to hold better.

Styling Steps

Pick up a small selection of hair from your mid section no bigger than your tail comb. Place your comb at the roots and then comb up and down until the hair is standing up by itself. Continue to the crown and finish at the sides. Repeat this step if you require more volume.

Apply some wax to your fingertips and then pull through the ends of your hair in a downward motion to achieve a sculptured look. Pinch clumps of hair in different directions for a messier result.

Using a small amount of wax, work it through the mid-lengths and ends in a downward, pinching motion. For added texture, apply more pinching and more wax.

Apply wax to your fingertips, then grab a small section of hair and rub the wax in before twisting and pulling your hair upwards. Repeat in each new section. For longer lasting spikes use a generous amount of hard wax.

Apply a small amount of wax to your fingers, then starting at your roots, apply the wax as you drag your hair in an upwards motion.

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
