Visual Story

Description

Keira Knightly looks beautiful with her long brunette hair with subtle waves and highlights. This hairstyle is easy for you to recreate at home and will not take you long to do. This casual hairstyle can turn into a formal hairstyle as well if you create tighter curls when you are styling this look. The parting down the middle allows the curls to frame her cheekbone area and neck area. The waves add body and volume to this look, which is stunning for any event you find yourself going to. Keira has added a few lighter highlights to her hair, which brightens up this look and adds another element. You are going to need to cut your hair once every 4 weeks or so to ensure that your ends stay healthy and that your color sticks to your hair better. Your highlights will need to be touched up once every 6 weeks or so to ensure that the color stays vibrant and your roots do not show. This hairstyle will suit all face shapes and hair densities but keep in mind that if your hair is very thick, the curls will not hold for the entire day.

Keeping your makeup application simple will tie in well with the vibe of your hairstyle. A bit of bronzer and blush will contour your cheekbones and add some color to your makeup. End off with your favorite lipstick color and you are ready to take on the day.

Styling Steps

Using the corner of your comb and standing in front of a mirror find the middle of your nose and then drag the comb straight up slowly until you reach your hairline and then continue back in a straight manner to achieve an even middle part. A middle part is a great way to make small, round face shapes appear longer and thinner.

Take a small section of hair and place the ends at the base of your curling iron barrel and then wrap the hair up around the barrel until you reach your mid-lengths. Hold the hair for 5 to 10 seconds and then release the hair by unwinding the strands backwards.

To finish, apply a minimal amount of hairspray from an arms length distance to the top, sides and back. Take care not to use too much or you will end up with a white, flaky residue which looks like dandruff.
